Et pourtant je trouve libmlt5 sur synaptics mais il me fait désinstaller
libmlt4 openshot python-mlt3, mettre à jour libmlt++3 et melt.
Et si je réinstalle libmlt++3 c'est reparti pour un tour...
Bref ça tourne en rond cette histoire.

J'observe des cnflits entre les paquets libmlt5, libmlt-data libmlt++3
python-mlt3 melt : pas moyen de les installer en même temps.
Et après quelques bricolages (le PPA a bien été ajouté) j'obtiens :

I installed the python-drmaa package and it installed successfully.
Attempting to run "pydoc drmaa" after the installation results in the
following cryptic message:
problem in drmaa - : could not find
drmaa library. Please specify its full path using the environment
variable
So, changed to "won't fix" why, exactly? This problem just bit me with
some third party software that was developed for Red Hat (but I want to
run it on Ubuntu).

FYI, I think this used to work okay in 10.04, but fails in exactly the
same way as described above in 12.04.
Note, in 10.04, X was started by gdm and was passed a -auth argument that
looked like this:
/var/run/gdm/auth-for-gdm-??/database
when a user would log in, their XAUTHORITY environment

I have a solution that worked for me, but I am sure that it won't work
for everyone, so take it or leave it.
I took the advice from Nitinn above and it worked for me. (Mute all of
your audio channels before suspending.) You have to mute EVERY channel
to get this to work. However, this can be autom
