I'm also experiencing this same issue. My /etc/ssl/certs/cacert.pem is
0644 and owned by root:root on both my ldap server. Also it seems that
my ldap servers are able to sync with each other over TLS/SSL but
ldapsearch doesn't seem to work for unless I put "TLS_REQCERT allow"
into ~/.ldaprc. I don'
I forgot to mention, both my desktop and my laptop run Ubuntu 10.04

I experienced this in both mplayer and lsdvd (probably vlc as well as it
did not play the DVD but I didn't launch vlc from the console so can't
confirm) when I played Toy Story. This was a netflix rental so I filed a
broken dvd on netflix and they sent me another disc of the same movie.

I retract my comment. I had a physical port on my sata bus which was
dying. I moved the drive to another port and I no longer receive these
error notifications.

I don't follow where anything in bug #505149 is worth looking at other
then it's the same problem affecting mplayer-gui. I'm glad that someone
mentioned bug #428884 since I was wondering why heartbeat-cmd wasn't
working. I wanted to clarify something here. stop-xscreensaver has
nothing to do with g
I don't retract my comment but at the same time I think this may
actually be a limited hardware failure on my machine. I am not certain
yet but this seems like it may be limited to one specific SATA port
which has been used for a long time but may no longer work. I will

I can confirm this has occurred to me in the last week on ubuntu 8.10
and 9.10 both on Ubuntu desktop AMD64. I noticed the error when my
system started freezing and during a reboot when fsck failed due to a
failing hard drive but I saw this error come up intermittently while
scanning the hard drive
