It seems this is related to atl1c somehow:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
add the line:
blacklist atl1c
(2) Open Terminal and issue the command:
sudo update-initramfs -u
Restart Laptop is a workaround.
No more wired Etherne

When starting in me clicking through the directories to this one:
/home/me/Azureus Downloads/off
the mouse cursor is like "hourglass-style" forever, and files in the
subdirectories will not be displayed at all.
Closing Nautilus seems to work,

I use the keyboard to navigate in the List View of Nautilus.
Unfortunately sometimes Nautilus switches to the Icon View accidentally.
This seems to happen when using the "arrow up key" repeatedly.
( On a Notebook, UK keyboard layout.)
Keys close to arrow up are: Shift, Euro

you are right, it has noting to do with the nvidia driver.
However I need key-by-key instructions to do what you asked for.
Also I found out that waiting for a few minutes will make the error go
away.
But it also keeps coming back.
