With the 470 nvidia display driver on Ubuntu 24.04 with a Geforce GT 730
GPU, multiple apps do not repaint/redraw the screen correctly. I have

I had this problem after installing from a CD onto a old (approx 2004)
Pentium machine, and then attempting to get the latest updates using
Software Updater.
The solution described in comment #18 solved this for me.
