ghook's suggestion works well on Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) except that
/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin does not exist. However, I changed that to
/usr/lib/gdm/gdm-xdmcp-chooser-slave (as shown below) and that works
beautifully!
/etc/gdm/custom.conf:

RemoteGreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdm-xdmcp-chooser-slave

When "gnome-screensaver-command -p" is called, it triggers a keyboard-
event (something with Alt+...).
This is a problem when called from for example blueproximity where the
command is called in the background and the user has an applic

with "quiet".

Black screen here too. Here's my bootchart. Thinkpad T41 with Radeon
Mobility 7500. Seems like usplash is using just a bit more CPU than it
used to :-)
