I can confirm this bug. I can also confirm that as a long-time amarok
ubuntu and lastfm user its extremely annoying. I've used this
combination for at least the slat couple of years, now after upgrading
to 9.0

Here is the use case, I wanted to listen to an mp3 file, I decided to
install amarok so i could listen to this mp3 file and the many others
like it I have on my computer. I did this as I have been using amarok to
listen to mp3 files on u
After installing mplayer on 9.04 and trying to watch a movie I was
geting this error message flashing continiously, I solved the problem by
going to preferences, audio and changing it from "alsa" to "pulse".
Perhaps, given 9.04 is using pulse audio and that's the setting that
makes mplayer behave,
