I have an Ubuntu 12.04 server edition which I ssh into.
I am running Perl scripts on this server but it fails when i load 'use
LWP::UserAgent;' with error message: Can't locate LWP/UserAgent.pm in
@INC (@INC contains: /home/hermann/scripts/modules/ /etc/perl
/usr/local/lib/pe
thanks for that but i uninstalled the system to go back to kubuntu 8.04.
it's much better, faster and bug free.
if i install ubuntu 10.04 again then i will give this a try.

its continuing to freeze even today.
but ive realised that if i press ctrl-alt-d
(which is a shortcut to minimize all programs)
and then i maximize the kwrite again and the freezing is gone.
its like that shortcut refreshes some memory which had a deadlock or
something.

it appears to work now, but only after i eject the cd and put it back in.
before that all i have is that error message.
so the bug here is that whats been burned doesn't appear on the cd/dvd
until one has ejected it and put it back in.
its not a trivial bug.

k3b doesnt burn the CD's it says
i did the "sudo dosfsck -a /dev/sdb1" again and now it worked.
after doing that i needed to remove the pin and reinsert it.
then the whole thing started working.

I am absolutely incapable of burning a cd on my computer.
Regardless of which program i try to use, nothing works.
The K3B program for instance, acts as if the cd burning went well, says "cd
burning was successfull" at the end...
but there is only one tiny problem... nothing
i have no idea what a BIOS update means, and therefore needless to say.. i
have no idea how to make that happen.
downloading the whole 8.10 operating system, installing to a cd and running
it seems like a tad too much hazzle,
especially if the issue will be solved in the next upgrade.

its a desktop search application called strigi, or something like that.
somehow it decided to fill the hard drive with as many 1gb files as it
possibly could, totally trashing the entire computer system.
and because it took up exactly ALL the space, i had no space, meani
