I am also suffering the same problem, but the time period is not always
30 mins or so. How does one remove fglrx ? Please guide!!!

I also have exactly the same problem. I have a PC with Atom 1.6 Ghz
processor and 1 MB RAM. I have intalled Maverick (Ubuntu 10.10) only
yesterday. On Memtest at boot, i get the message "too small lower memory
(0X99100 > 0X8f000)

Not really. Ever since i installed ntpdate, the system clock corrects
itself when ever i am connected to the Internet through my broadband
connection.

I have discovered, that this problem no longer affects my desktop ever
since i removed the connection to the headphones. I am therefore led to
believe that it is due to a bug in pulseaudio module.

I have karmic on my PC. Recently i have noted that the system timer
often lags behind when i restart my PC. I often reset it, using the time
preferences, but it again behaves similarly. Can someone suggest a
remedy?
