There for my experience: I've had a lot of troubles because xserver-xorg-core wouldn't upgrade to the latest version. Eventually, dpkg would litter my terminal with package ... depends on xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.4) ; however : The version of xserver-xorg-core on the system is 2:1.3.0.0.df
