Yes, because the controlling systemd service wait in vain for graceful
termination of the gnome-session-binary and send a SIGKILL after 90s.
For an unknown reason nobody seems to send a SIGTERM before. But I'm
neither used to write scripts for systemd nor know the details of
desktop session managem

Installing over 18.04.14, using the two /sda's it was using.
Boot doesn't work, get grub rescue.
The found fixes didn't work as well.
Boot again from flash-drive, re-install 20.04 over previous 20.04 (yes, 18.04
no longer present).
The drive also houses sda2, sda3, sda4 which
!UpgradeStatus! The previous Ubuntu version was the 32-bits version of
18.04, so that's why there is no upgrade log, it was indeed a fresh
install to make the switch to 64-bits.

Sorry on my latest message I said that the kernel 4.5rc4 didn't work, but it is
working, I just forgot to change the grub and updated as indicated above:
nouveau.modeset=0 acpi_osi=! acpi_backlight=native idle=nomwait
Now the mouse pad is working, also the sound, and the wifi card can
I installed the latest kernel wily 4.5rc4 and the computer didn't boot.
I also tried with the kernel 4.4 nothing changed.
