I'm sorry but I no longer have a ubuntu 20.4 platform for testing.

I was only trying to help by reporting the issue.

Hi!
I'm happy to say that this particular bug is a thing of the past since I now
run Ubuntu 11.4. On all my machines.
I always try to support Ubuntu and free software in general when ever
possible - which means most of the time.
However, I must say that I regret changing to 11.4 since there are
I have the same problem on the alternate amd64 iso.
This is after I've spent 3 weekends trying to install an upgrade on my
previously broken 10.04.
What a sad state of affaire.
It seems to me that the repository list in apt is still set to look for
the CD with that name.
So much more time waste
I am running 10.10 netbook remix on asus 1201n. This happens to me also.
Very annoying...

I'm very disappointed.
Thanks anyway,

Hi!
Are you saying that this is no longer being treated as a bug? Surely, it
*IS* a bug?
Thanks,

Thanks for looking into the bug.
I am totally blocked now. Is there anything I can do to gain access to my
machine?
Thanks,
Bob.

Is there any update on this bug? My system is still unusable and I have no
idea of how to get it back...
Any workaround ideas would be most helpful!

Hello,
The last kern.log is only one line long, but dates from a while ago.
I have attached all the kern.log files. you will see that kern.log.4 has
real content. The others seem to indicate a problem?
I have attached the syslog, also

My well funtionctiong 10.04 on AMD64 with real-time kernel no longer
boots.
It starts the boot sequence, and seems ok. I get the GRUB pause, it indicates a
generic kernel, not an rt kernel, but I'm not sure if that was always the case.

Hi!
thanks for your reply.
I created that .conf file and put the content you requested into it.
The text is now a bit smaller, but still unacceptably ugly for a boot

my non IT friends!
I demo to all how easy it is and no
