I have the same type problem and issuing a "sudo restart network-
manager" does the trick for me. Yes, I know, it makes no sense.

Running updated Jaunty I get about 200 of these messages when running
nm-applet from konsole:

same problem here, restricted fglrx, intrepid, only happens when desktop
effects are enabled.

I do not appear to have the problem on at least one ASA Version 7.1(2), but
