I installed flashplugin-nonfree version 7.0.63.3ubuntu3 via Synaptic.
In the pop up dialog in Synaptic for the flash plugin I clicked yes to
allow downloading the plugin. Then following the instructions located
at Gnome menu: System>H
Forgot to add I was using Gnome-terminal. Also makes no difference
whether this is done with a fresh reboot and not using computer while
operation takes place or using other programs.
Right clicking on /usr/local/games/X-Plane 8.40 in Nautilus and selecting
properties shows:

Forgot to mention I use Edgy.
Attempting to boot the kernel 2.6.17-7-generic results in the BusyBox
showing. The BusyBox also displays an error message. This as of this
morning with all updates applied as of Sunday September 10, 16:05 UTC

I was using gnome terminal and using the command of fgfs to launch
flightgear. I was using edgy with all updates at the time of the crash
except for tomboy. Also using nvidia-glx. As far as I can tell there
was nothing unusual going on before the crash. I only just did a fresh
install of edgy a

Running the python script attachment available here allows the DVD
burner to work perfectly for DVD disc as well. From comment above.
Should have added sometimes, it is touch and go. The script does not
always get Plextor burner working.

Hello I can confirm this bug as well. I recently installed a new DVD
burner the Plextor PX-760A a dual layer DVD burner on pata. CD disc
worked perfectly but not DVDs. Howver running the python script
attachment available here allows the DVD burner to work perfectly for
