We could have said the same thing 3 years ago when gnome-code-install (
Which propose to install a gstreamer package when a codec is needed) was
developped.
the status here is a bit different as libdvdcss is not even in Universe
but launching install-css.s

"share my desktop" on contextual menu on for xmpp contacts is disabled

Finally got Mythbuntu installed by reinstalling libxml-namespacesupport-
perl which will be fetch from /usr/share/perl5/XML/

I second this . trying to open an flv file as a http stream with all
gstreamer plugins installed including FFMPEG in Gutsy ( 0.10.2-2.ubuntu1
) .
When gstreamer- ffmpeg is removed, Codeine looks for the ffmpeg plugin
so the mimetype seems correct.
however if you try to open the vidéo locally it w

that requires a plugin for application/x-vlc-plugin. obviously only VLC can
load it.

Using Film/open URL with an http ogg/theora stream such as

well, but the slider cannot be moved and so seeking on the http stream
is not possible.
this was observed on a Fresh
With a Fresh Gutsy install and a PCMCIA RT2500 card , I had the same
problem trying to join adhoc non encrypted networks.
Actually network Manager failed to put the card in adhoc mode.
WICD could not do it as well.
But doing manually with "iwconfig wlan mode ad-hoc" worked
