[Bug 1175251] Re: kubuntu upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 leaves system unusable

2013-10-29 Thread footer
I can confirm that this is STILL happening. I upgraded from 12.10 to 13.04 today and got that error. Thankfully, I found this bug report, did "apt-get install qdbus:amd64" from command line (Thanks to Bill Pier Post #3!) and had no further issues. I'm running an amd64 system, and always have. O

Maverick Meerkat appears to have this problem as well. I just used Robertjm (Post #18) suggestion and it worked like a charm. My xine ui volume now slides with the master control (desktop) volume and is remembered. Thanks! -- Xine-UI defaults to sound volume to 0% https://bugs.launchpad.net/bu

I've been running 8.10 for a couple of weeks now (actually since the day after it was released - 10/31/08) and I have not seen this issue reappear. I'm still running the same hardware as when I posted to this thread on 10/20/07. Thanks. -- flash hangs firefox on gusty 64 https://bugs.launchpad.

I'm happy to say that Kåre's un84.diff patch works fine on Hardy Heron 64-bit Kubuntu (3.5.9 kde). I just patched it. Not sure why I didn't do it long ago as I've been just sort of getting used to the 'new way'. But I liked the old way so much better so I'm glad to have it back with the patch. -

I think I identified incorrectly what version of Superkaramba I was using in my post above (2007-06-08). I said .41 but at the Superkaramba web site, it's only up to .39 (as of today anyway!). I tried installing .39 from source but keep running into this problem: checking for unsetenv... yes che

I can confirm this problem on Feisty Fawn 7.04, KDE 3.5.6 and Superkaramba 0.41. I have two Superkaramba applets running and after sitting idle for awhile, my desktop will freeze for 20-30 seconds after which I am able to use it normally again (no hard reset thank goodness!). Very annoying proble
