Well yesterday there were multiple folders like you described. But today with
the new updates they were removed and there is now a new "hardware-driver
manager". It had only 1 choice for nvidia, so i selected nvidia and hit
"install and use".
Then i restarted and after it rebooted the option fo
got the same problem... loading it with the hardware-driver manager always
resulted in "low grafics mode", loading manuaally works but compiz doesn't like
it it seems :(

I totally aggree with the above statement.
It's not understandable that even after unchecking screensaver lock, it
sometimes lock the screen... it's annoying if you ask me und has nothing to do
with security here cause you can check "always lock screensaver" to gain max
security.

In Feisty I just get a black screen with nothing at all. I'm not really sure
this is an improvement :)
Kubuntu just looks sexy on Mac hardware. I guess I'll have to go back to Dapper
since it worked just

When using the method posted by Jordan when I press CTRL+ALT+FN+F1 I
switch to the console but instead of getting a shell prompt I just get a
blank screen with the backlight on. I can type in sudo apt-get update
and when I hit enter the CD drive spins as if it is executing.
