For me that is a temp workaround and the next time i use synaptic or
apt-get it fails and I have to do that procedure again. Honestly this
needs to be repaired, not worked around.

When this occurs my screen dims and requires a FN (function) up arrow
(to increase brightness) as I type this the screen is slowly dimming to
a point i would compare to running on battery
Incorrectly typed From what i have discovered that does fix a
compatibility issue with my access point. It should be "does NOT fix".

After performing updates using update manager, the display was dim (been

Thank you for your interest. Since it has been quite some time since i did
ubuntu beta's, and a lot has changed over the years I am accustomed to
answering specific questions as they pertain to the problem I was experiencing.
Since yesterdays updates I am able to submit errors automatically.

Anytime I try and report an error and there are too many crashes to list I try
and go thru apport and get the listed information. If it would think i had a
valid ubuntu package then i could submit the errors. at boot at one time it was
xorg. I have had to kill apport, i had the install fail at
