I have the exact same problem on my Acer 1681. It hangs on "Loading ACPI modules". The slow booting can be solved though, by deleting everything except the lo part in /etc/network/interfaces. Make sure your interfaces file only contains: auto lo iface lo inet loopback -- Feisty stops booting at
