Yes, I have used gThumb for downloading the images with selected "rotate
images" checkbox.
I found out, that physical image rotating via the exif orientation is possible
after downloading the images:
1. select the image(s) in gThumb
2. menu -> tools -> rotate images -> apply physical transform

Public bug reported:
On importing photos from my Canon Ixus 60 digi cam via the gnome photo
import window, the checkbox rotate images does not take an effect.
In Feisty, the images were really rotated by the gnome photo import.
Since Gusty, the image rotation does no longer work for me.

Had sometimes no sound after boot/rehibernate on my T43 on Ubuntu 7.04.
The workaround from Jericho of adding snd_intel8x0 to /etc/modules seems
to work for me.
