I had the same problem using a solaris ZFS server as the NFS file
server. I was able to fix this by adding vers=3 to the options. I you
do not need version 4 of NFS try using this in your fstab.

This may appear to be the issue. A USB device was created using (what now
appears to be older) instructions on the Ubuntu site. The device is
formated as fat32. I believe it should not be limited by the number of
charaters in those files names but that may be the case.

I have not seen this problem with Lucid. I believe this has been fixed
for me.

I have found a work around that works for me:
Description: When amarok is runing and Firefox 3 tries to play a video
with sound, no sound plays, and after closing firefox, it is hung in the
background and must be killed.
Assumptions: Both Firefox and Amarok were trying to directly access my
sound

Running KDesktop with Compiz and Emerald, olincity hangs even harder.
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and Ctrl-Alt-F1 (etc) all do not
respond. The mouse moves on the screen but clicking does nothing. The
only remedy is to force power off the machine. This is reproducible 100%
of the time.

cursor moves all the way up to the corner of the screen.
