same problem with real time kernel 2.6.27-3-rt in ubuntu studio, I switched to kernel 2.6.22-14-rt and the problem did not show up, system shutdown/reboot fine with stock kernel 2.6.27-11-generic -- jaunty and intrepid shutdown/restart hang on "acpid: exiting" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/3024
