On my laptopconfiguration (proprietary NVidia drivers), resizing the Scratch
window does not work: the window becomes black, and start shrinking on its
own.The only solution is to quit the application and restart it.
This make the application unusable for a kid

This is exactly my opinion Jonathan!
In Germany it's the Router of the Provider "Alice" which has this issue.
And i think it could be, that it maybe not talking in the correct
standard way but it worked in Hardy and Intrepid and where is the use of
forcing standard behaviour and killing functional
It was an Error with my old .Xmodmap
It seems, that something has changed since the last release concerning
the xmodmap system. I reduced my xmodmap file in my home directory to
the keycodes i want to change. Before i had a complete copy of the
german mapfile.

This is no solution. This is just a workaround. All this worked well in
Intrepid, Hardy and so on. There should be an package update so that
installing updates fixes the problem.

Opening flat XML Files (.fods) in Karmic isn't possible anymore. It says
"General Error", "General I/O Error". I'm accessing the file directly on
the file System and the permissions are correctly set. An xls File in
the same folder is openi
Dragging the panels with this key-combination solved my Problems too.
The panels are in the right place and i can also use the whole screen
for positioning items again.
