Sadly, I don't think we will be seeing a fix for this anytime soon.
Firehol's project page has not been updated since Jan. 30, 2005 so I
don't think it's been currently maintained. Too bad since it was the
friendliest iptables front end that didn't limit you to a simple 2
interface setup.

Today's update seems to have fixed this for me. However, altho now
"ifconfig" show all the interfaces as UP, the network icon says it's
disabled. And if I "enable" it, network goes down.

I have a similar issue that might confirm this bug:
After upgrading from dapper to feisty beta, my network interfaces with
static IP assigned will come up but no IP will be configured.
