This is often due to faulty CD/DVD disk drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may
help to clean to the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed , to clean the
CD/DVD drive leans

I try the live cd of Ubuntu & Kubuntu Karmic Koala, alpha 5 & 6 and i
can see anything in my screen (black screen with massage )...
The card is nvdia gforce7 and the display is 19' 1440 x 900...
Also i test to another pc with 17' display with out a problem...
