i got the same error here with another file. the file is created with
openoffice, named "Übung.doc", then compressed in "test.zip" with ubuntu
9.04. then i sent it per mail to another computer and tried to
decompress it with ubuntu 9.10.
when trying to open the file in the archive there is followi
changing the line in menu.lst didn't work for me. still cannot change
brightness.

do you use hardy or intrepid? do you have windows installed?
i use intrepid right now. maybe you should try an update. try switching
your wireless on with windows, ubuntu should install the right drivers
by itself.

these scripts aren't for use with ndiswrapper, but for native drivers. if you
do not use native drivers of course you cannot use these scripts.
by the way: i tested these scripts only on my own notebook.
why do you use the windows drivers? the integrated ones just work

i attached a zip file with the outputs of 3 different tries.
at first, i locked the touchpad. i could not unlock die touchpad, so i
connected my mouse and did a reboot. after reboot the touchpad was unlocked. i
disconnected the mouse, did a X restart and then copied the output. so i s

ignore the first 0x9c that may show up---this is the result of you
letting go of the return key!"
so FN+F8 gives you nothing, like here.
