Seems to work fine on Ubuntu 10.11. Altered tab behaviour (Comment #25)
remains, but I guess that's a different bug..

I can't find anything in that FAQ that indicates that sudo privileges
carries over to another window when gnome-terminal is closed. On the
contrary, the FAQ claims that sudo offers the benefit of "fine-grained
granting of privileges". Giving sudo access to whichever person that

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
When ubuntu booted up after install it was only possible to select
resolutions up to 1024x768 even though the monitor is natively
1280x1024. Using the restricted drivers did not help.
Editing the xorg.conf is a workaround. The attached information i
Onakas link is specific for the 05 june snapshot. Old snapshots are
deleted. Try downloading a newer one.

https://bugs.launchpad.ne
I just tried the development drivers from today. No flickering on my
6715b (Same model as the bug-issuer). Also, when compiz is on, the
average Xorg cpu usage is now 1-5%, compared to a constant >15% on Ibex.
Nice work!

I tried the release. The install bug still remains. These are my
experiences with RC and release:
* RC Xubuntu (normal install) -> Fails. Symptoms as reported by first
poster
* RC Xubuntu (with "re-insert sd card"-workaround) -> Works. The "FATAL:
Could not load /lib/modules..." appears on every
Daniels workaround worked on Compaq 6715b. Removed and inserted the sd-
card as described and that seemed to get it out of the cycle. I did
only test the first "try-without-installing option" from the menu.

Ubuntu 9.04 beta desktop fails to boot from usb-stick
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/
This happens on my AMD64 compaq 6715b notebook as well, when trying to
boot from a SD-card. The symptoms are exactly as described above. It
also happens if I try to install kubuntu beta or xubuntu beta.
The ISO is put on the SD-card using the System->Administration->Create
USB startup disk
