I saw exactly the same symptoms as described by another reporter: The
screen is completely blank with only a pink square in the place of the
mouse pointer.

I have two PC. Desktop with actual Gentoo stable and PCI DVB-T tuner
Hauppauge WinTV 2000 and laptop with Ubuntu 8.04 and USB DVB-T tuner
Gigabyte U7000. USB DVB-T tuner works well with mplayer a (g)xine at
both PC. Totem on my laptop with USB DVB-T is not working and Totem on
my desktop works only
