I can confirm this bug on an up to date 16.04.02 Ubuntu MATE in a
virtual machine.
This is a regression as the problem only surfaced within the last 2-3

A series of issues about update-manager and unattended-upgrade. I have set the
system to:
- automatically check for update daily
- when there are security updates, download and install them automatically
- when there are other updates, display them immediately.
What occurs:

Software Updater never automatically launches even if I ask for
immediate display of available updates.
Unattended-upgrades never installs anything.
After forcing a reload of package info then rebooting the next day, I got

Indeed, I can confirm that this is a problem with compiz. On two
different machines (AMD and Nvidia graphics) the panel flipping happens
only with compiz.

As regards the Fedora patch, the "the caveat that wifi will always be
enabled on boot" would be a major regression for me.
I use my eeepc a lot on aircraft and in order to comply with the law, it
should not use wifi at all in the air. I should be able to ensure that
the machine will boot with wire

Intrepid from Hardy/Gutsy in that none of the scripts on the internet

I am running an Acer 3613WLMi laptop with the Broadcom 4318 chipset.
Under Dapper, using ndiswrapper and the Acer bcmwl5 driver, I could
