Essentially, I wanted to set the video output to use opengl (so I can
watch video in Totem while having compositing)

/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/UpdateManager/DistUpgradeFetcher.py)
Upgrading as of now. Hopefully turns out nicely. My feisty was dist-upgraded
from edgy on this box. I didn't tweak too much so I'm hoping for a smooth
upgrade :)

It's been stable, but I can confirm the laggy video (using open source
ati driver) that does not occur with the -23 version of the kernel. I
tried compiling my own, but didn't get wifi support (intel pro wireless
2915)... Still too much of a n00b I guess...
