Hi There
I added all_generic_ide to my grub boot options and this error has never
happened after that.
I dont even know what it means, just saw it in a forum somewhere.
I am thus closing this bug.

The boot error is now happening even without the USB hub connected!
But again, its very random in nature. I just keep rebooting my machine and it
starts booting properly in one attempt.

Now attaching the photo when my ubuntu just doenst boot. The above
attachments are for the case when it boots properly.
This time it happened even without attaching the monitor usb connection.
Sounds like a complicated bug, but I will help you guys with whatever
information you want.

I am using Gutsy Gibbon. But now the behavior is a bit different. The
second vlc command doesnt crash vlc but just plays the video without the
sound.
I am not running ubuntu as guest. It is the main OS. I sometimes run
windows has guest, but not while testing/reproducing this bug.
I am also facing the same problem with exactly the same error. Any
solutions?

Open a movie (avi file) with VLC with the command
vlc movie.avi
then pause the movie.
Then open another video from a new terminal
