same here on thunar with xubuntu 14.04 (fresh install) with inateck sata
to usb3 docking station...

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu

fixed removing kipi-plugins:
sudo apt-get remove kipi-plugins
then digikam installs correctly.

wow, are you serious, this bug should be classified as critical. Looking on
google, a LOT of users are getting this error...
I couldn't get my system boot for all evening after upgrading from previous
ubuntu version.

sudo mv /var/run/* /run/
sudo mv /var/lock/* /r
