After login, nautilus starts, but a terminal needs to be opened to start
unity. Also, time to desktop in unreasonably slow, taking at best 45
seconds after login. Also, for some reason, this time my desktop no
longer works, but unity does after I got unity started.

Just updated using synaptic since updater was broken. Rebooted, and
first it booted to my desktop background and a desktop. No unity(not
