Delay launching of your script. I've added this line:
X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=6
in to the appropriate .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart folder.
And ist's working again.
But it is still very disappointing, it seems like this bug is getting worse,
not better...

I added your ppa, but bug persist. Ubuntu 14.04 32bit.

I can confirm this behaviour , but only if the gcalc is running in
"czech translation". When i type in terminal - LANGUAGE="en_US"
gcalctool - everything is working fine..

Installation of libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio, solved problem with
termination, and cpu consumption. So the program now works properly, but
