When trying to burn a dvd, brasero shows media is not writable, but still burns
anyway, makes checksum even it has been disabled in gconf, gives out wrong dvd
speeds (1-3-5-7) and once burn is finished it dies telling it can't eject the
media.
same happened to me upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy,
rebooting led me to a machine on which was impossible to issue sudo.
I had to reboot in root by the maintenance mode, then dpkg --configure -a
apt-get -f install, and i was back with the working system.

I am using edgy eft on my panasonic Cf73, i had to compile myself the module
for hotkey, and the module for the smartlink modem
they should be available as a package in ubuntu, so that i don't have to
compile again every time the kernel is updated
please try to add them in F
i just get to the notice saying that it was unable to start X.
however after formatting my home and root i was able to test herd 3 with the X
starting properly.
its a pity, moreover that i found some annoying bugs, i will try again once it
reaches beta.

i have a panasonic cf73 with edgy eft, some speed tweaks, prelink, readahead,
preload.
until i used only wifi to connect to internet everything worked
i had to use ethernet to connect, from then , every bootup takes good 5 mins,
every time even the terminal won't load bef

i have the same problem, i opened a duplicate bug, by issuing sudo
update-manager in a bash i get a notice that dbus is not working correctly.
i dunno how to apply a .diff so i am locked in the problem.

i read the 67112, at me seems different.
my update-manager works correctly, but doesn't install anything..
i click on install, it seems to work, goes shaded for a couple second, then
back to the main page.
doesn't try to install anything.
apt-get upgrade works perfectly, as well as aptitude.

i installed kernel source and symlinked to /usr/src/linux
then issued sudo make
i got an error that some options were missing and that panasonic-acpi.o was
missing as well..
on dapper i was running pcc_acpi perfectly working no need to recompile it,
worked out of the box..

i am available for any testing on my system.
just drop me a line and i can try, is not a production machine and i can try
whatever on it.
For me is important that edgy works fine since i am trying to switch totally to
linux and laptop is the only pc that still performs better in winzoze than in
trying other acpi modules failed as well..
seems that edgy support for panasonic ACPI is b0rked.

found that PCC_ACPI is not loaded at bootup, sony_acpi is loaded instead.
blacklisted sony_acpy and modprobbed pcc_acpi doesn't show any /proc/acpi/pcc
so no hotkey or brighness support is available.
moreover is impossible to change screen brightness since is in
/proc/acpi/video/VGA0/LCD/brightn
