I have the same problem across fresh reboots, and my system is freshly
installed and updated.

Hello,
I followed the steps for reproducing the error with gdb (backtrace) and was
unable to reproduce the error this way, although I am able to reproduce the
error consistently when starting gnome-system-log normally (from System /
Administration menu).
If I precede the menu command with "gks
