The only work around that has fixed this bug for me so far is adding
i915.modeset=0 to my boot options. I don't have this bug in the lucid
alpha which indicates it's been fixed in the kernel. Can it be
backported to karmic?

You will need to provide some more information before this bug can be
solved. I think that your wireless card is not being detected by the
kernel. So I'm asking you to run the following commands in a terminal
and attach the resulting files here or paste them here.
uname -a > uname-a.log
cat /proc/
Have the upstream changes been placed in Debian ? If so, then a sync
could be requested. If not, I guess a packaging request must be made in
order for this to get into Hardy.

I proposed on the -devel mailing list that this package should be
installed by default because it is needed to make the cards work with
Ubuntu infrastructure. That in combination with an initialization script
that runs on boot should fix the problem.

I think however I know why my card refused to work with the gutsy

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22
I have a Linksys WUSB11 V3 Wlan dongle for my PC. It is supported by the
Linux-wlan-ng drivers. Iwconfig reports that Wlan0 does not exist and
thus I assume that it is not being detected. I have had this card
working on Ubuntu and vari
