This is normal behavior, because when you use synaptic as root ( via
sudo or otherwise ) it uses the graphical settings from root's home
directory instead of the ones from your home directory.
Since this is normal behavior i am invalidating this bug.

A mispelling in my comment above, you could have a problem but it
probally wouldn't have been caused by Docky in any case, i am
invalidating this bug.
If you wish you can see if you could find the exact series of events
required to cause this to happen, and file a new bug.

I was unable to reproduce this bug under Ubuntu 10.04, i added Docky,
added a Startup Applications entry and rebooted ten times, you could
very well have a problem, but it probally would be caused by Docky in
any case, if you wish you can see if you could find the exact series of
events required t
