Well, I can atleast generate the reports I had, with the 'fix' but when
I try to create a new report (wizard or design view), it just goes away
and I have to recover/unlock the db. This is a problem, which I don't
have time to bitch about or follow up on.

I confirm this problem.
My scenario;
1) open xmms (or audacity as per another user) and set 'always on top'
2) start FF 3.0.1 - opens behind xmms, focus is on xmms
3) select FF and get focus on FF
4) start new app from launcher (firestarter)
5) firestarter opens behind FF, focus remains on FF

Same thing was happening to me with Thuderbird links opening FF3.0.1 tabs, and
FF stealing focus.
A solution which worked for me is to go into FF about:config and set
preference: 'browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground' to 'true'.

Can't help you with "proper" reporting, though I suspect when a guru
shows up, they'll ask for more specifics.

Confirmed (sort of). Looks like gdm 2.14.10 fixed my suspend problem (see
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/50703)
I don't normally hibernate, but when I tried it (from the login options menu) I
get the "authentication failed" message as mentioned above.
