When I right click on a bookmark in the bar above the tabs, or in the
Bookmarks menu, firefox crashes sporadically.

I've experienced the same, on a clean feisty-amd64 install. Also, when I
right-click the applet and Open, then right-click the applet and select
'Remove from Panel', the applet disappears, and then reappears, now
working!
