I have used Mono with LibreOffice in Ubuntu 11.04, and it worked quite well. In
Ubuntu 11.10, the bootstrapping works, but I can't get an instance of the
"com.sun.star.frame.Desktop" service which is required for creating or loading
further services.

On my lucid installation (with proposed and backports repositories
disabled and everything updated) it is still only possible to enter 4
characters. Mathieu, do you have proposed or backports enabled? Is the
change in an update that is delivered there?

I just tried it out in jaunty with the newest version of update-manager
installed. The update-manager window still notifies the window manager, and in
my case the window button in the task bar starts to blink, for example when the

I tried to find out elements in the xmodmap file cause the problem. It
occurs whenever there is a symbol declared for the sixth level. When I
delete the declarations for the sixth level or replace them with
NoSymbol, the dialog works.

it occurs. I use the neo layout (from http://wiki.neo-
layout.org/browser/linux/xmodmap the file neo_de.xmodmap). When the

Some sdl applications leave fullscreen while runnung for no obvious reason.
After some seconds they return to fullscreen again. This is very nasty
especially for games. It happens on a newly installed Ubuntu Gutsy with Compiz
enabled in default
I seem to have the same problem. Compiz hides my bottom panel. It does however
not show it if I click in the area, but maximized windows leave this space
free. If I right-click on the plain area at the bottom, it behaves in the same
way as if I click on the desktop.

Renders system completely usable for me too... Lucky that I know how to get
things running again. For a newbie this is a catastrophy if video cards that
are not too old (like my three-year-old GeForce4 Ti) suddenly can't be run
without 3d acceleration.
