Okay, thanks for the information. i guess I needed the excuse to buy a
larger HD anyway. New hard drive FIXED the problem.
ubuntu is installing updates after initial installation.

I noticed that when I relaunched Ubuntu "/var/log/installer/syslog" &
"/var/log/partman" didn't exist. I tried to regenerate them by re-installing
Ubuntu and getting the crash.
It did crash again, both files were generated, but I was unable to launch
Firefox so that I could append the files.
