Just an update. I have found that by removing the app diodon from the
panel, logout returns to normal Try disabling any apps in the panel one
by one to see if that might resolve the issue.

Same problem here. Actually if I wait long enough ie. 2 minutes, it will
eventually logout, but initiating a second logout makes it work
immediately.

I meant when apps are maximised.
I think I have solved the problem though.
After installing gnome-tweak-tool, I needed to enable "have file manager handle
the desktop".
Either that or an update since seems to have sorted it.

Same problem for me using kernel 2.6.35.25.
I found that installing kernel 2.6.35.11 from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ solved the problem.
Strange because I thought the 2 kernels corresponded to one another, but either
way it worked.

What I find strange is that suspend/resume appears to work the first time after
a reboot, but subsequent times it just comes out of Suspend and hangs on a
blank screen.
Occasionally it also freezes going into suspend.

This is also a problem with the ATI Radeon RV610 Driver.
I added the "radeon.new_p11=0" to the kernel line. This stopped the flicker,
but i lost 3D and desktop effects.
Kernel 2.3.32.19 is being used.
