Terminate_Server in xmodmap kills X o
Still happens in jaunty.
I don't think attaching logs is necessary, as the cause of problem is
"obvious": the Terminate_Server binding.

I have an xmodmap (generated with earlier Ubuntu) that had:
keycode 22 = BackSpace Terminate_Server BackSpace
On karmic, shitf+backspace kills X server. I practically never hit the
old ctrl+alt+backspace problem, but this kept tripping me up quite

This is not a bug. You need to enter
!echo $$PATH
To get the correct behaviour. $PATH expands the PATH *python* variable
(this is an IPython feature), where $$PATH escapes the $ character and
passes single $ character to shell.

I'm commenting to explain my solution for the posteriority:
- It seems that watching a video from tv-out in Windows (dual boot)
screwed up my monitor ( acer al2216w ). I started getting the "bad edid
checksum" errors from X.
- The problem appeared simultaneously on Ubuntu 9.04 and Debian "Lenny"

I can confirm that this method worked
Please retest with latest bzr version (bzr branch lp:ipython), it seems
