I replaced the harddisk's in /etc/fstab that were using /dev/hda*
notations with UUID= (using sudo vol_id /dev/hda*). Kernel now boots
normally, tho the harddisk (hda) is still reported as sata (sda). this
shouldnt happen.

same problem, boot continues after typing "reboot", keeps complainig
about apt nog being installed? hda changes to sda. UUID still mounts
fine.

I think I have the same problem in feisty. The init script fails on
boot. Starting the GUI gives a "eth0 not ready, failed to start
firestarter" error. Strangely enough, disabling and enabling eth0 makes
firestarter start without problem.
