PS. Avidemux (GTK+) was see in Open With -> Other Applictions
once i selected it it appeared in Open With

avidemux not in "open with" con
sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/avidemux-gtk.desktop
added %U in the line Exec=avidemux2_gtk
that is
Exec=avidemux2_gtk %U
it worked

The proxy settings seem to be okay on my system. All other applications
seem to work, expect apport-collect and weather (haven't come across
other problems yet).
Even my system seems to be affect by the bug. I am running 12.04 32 Bit
on a Desktop.
