I have reproduced the problem on Ubuntu Natty and LMDE with recent
kernels. I'd say this is a pretty big issue, since this is the main
thing holding me back from using linux as my main OS. Fullscreen full HD
video with tearing is unacceptable for users who spend any amount of
time on YouTube.

Never mind, eject -p, eject -t and eject -T all seem to have the same
bug. It's unpredictable.

Yeah...SCIM screws up a lot of apps when I use Ubuntu. I have to use
im-switch with xim or some other interface, which allows the programs
to load and not crash regularly, but it still messes up nautilus and a
few other things.

I was able to resolve this bug by uninstalling Korean language support,
support for complex characters in language support, and all SCIM related
software in Synaptic.
I think SCIM has some serious issues and bugs up many
programs...somebody needs to fix it.

This happened to me when I had a directory of unfinished bittorrent
media and the thumbnailer was trying to process the media files in
konqueror.

It doesn't matter whether I'm in root or not.
Usually it doesn't work. With root, it works more often. But many times
it won't work with root either.
Would SCIM have a conflict with Nautilus?

I think it's an incompatibility with the libraries that SCIM
references...
I can avoid problems sometimes by setting the input component to
another module like UIM, etc.

In spite of the bugs, I really love Linux.
Especiallin Ubuntu Christian Edition. They added a whole lot of nice
things (like automatix, albeit buggy). I hope to never have to use
Windows again.
