I have reproduced the problem on Ubuntu Natty and LMDE with recent kernels. I'd say this is a pretty big issue, since this is the main thing holding me back from using linux as my main OS. Fullscreen full HD video with tearing is unacceptable for users who spend any amount of time on YouTube. --
