I have the same problem in my desktop. I only have an Ethernet card. The
card itself works fine, but the entries in the network-manager's menu,
containing my VPNs do not appear. Everything was working fine before the
upgrade to 12.04.
If I kill nm-applet, and re-run again, the VPN menus appear.

I also have the same problem. I have a Dell Latitude E6410 with an NVIDIA
graphic card.
I am running Oneiric 11.10 64-bits with the latest upgrades installed (only
using official repositories).

I have a similar problem. I upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 and now the
shutdown button in the top right menu does not work anymore. Right now,
instead of shutting the system down, it just logs me out. After that, if
I try to shutdown in the login screen, nothing happens. So, in the end,

I was also wondering why this bug has low priority. I understand it's
not a kernel panic, but if Ubuntu wants to be an easy-accessible OS,
bugs like this one should not happen. They make Ubuntu look very

I do not have any experience with IPv6, but I checked the output from
sysctl -A and looked into /etc/hosts. It seems as if IPv6 is not
disabled in my system, as there are these 3 lines:
