I downloaded the daily Oneiric snapshot CD on 2011-08-28. I booted from
it but the booting ended with a black screen. However, I was able to get
keyboard access by Ctrl-Alt-F2 (typing Ctrl-Alt-F7 would turned the
screen black again). In the console (or whatever the exact term

I got a backtrace. However, it doesn't seem to provide very much benefit
- I couldn't find debugging symbols for the xfwm4-settings program
itself, although I sought to install -dbg versions of all relevant-
looking packages.
Without debugging symbols, the backtrace provides the benefit
OK... do you mean something specific by "backtrace" ? I mean, do you
have in mind some suitable tool or log file that could give you the
information needed?

Thanks for your insight -- yeah, it's a good idea to drop the theme
until it's fixed. However, I'm not a developer of Xfce, so you should
ask someone else to repackage the themes... Thanks for you work in
highlighting the importance of this bug.

Binary package hint: xfwm4-themes
When I choose the Wildbush theme for the window manager, I get
immediately thrown out to the login screen. When I try to log in again,
I only get back to the login screen. Changing the theme setting in
xfwm4.xml fixes the problem.
