I've got the same issue, but in another situation:
When trying to play a DVD I see following error-message in Console:
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote control.
Playing VIDEO_TS.
Win32 Loa
Note that I'm using 0.9.4.

When I successfully removed installed windows-software (there was no other
option of supported OS:es available at the time), I was unable to remove all
the old icons and programstarters in the wine-menu.
I even tryed using alacarte, but unsuccessfull.
