Not a kupfer bug, but bug in the ubuntu package of Kupfer. Old packages

want feedback on it. So today I released again, c11; this is
definitely an early release that needs testing with Gnote and Tomboy,
as well as the Nautilus extension. So please disregard c11 and go

I have no idea if it has anything to do with this bug. I think this is
solved now, since the patch to not make it crash on bad data is in. But
the question why it suddenly quits was not solved. I don't use the
ubuntu package so I don't really know if anything special happens.

I don't know Luca's patching system, but I think this should work for
*one part*:
Instead of cd /user/share/kupfer && PYTHON -m kupfer.__init__
just exec the kupfer.py script Luca installs.
a python script will first look in its directory for module imports, so it
should work just fine.

Kupfer should use the working dir where it's started. When started from
an application launcher, this becomes the home directory automatically.
The ubuntu packaging patches kupfer to be installed into
/usr/share/kupfer and changes dir to this when launching kupfer, so it's
not strictly *kupfer's*

On Mac OS X, when the desktop is shown and all windows are shoved to the
side, as soon as you click any window, or open a new one, all windows
slide back into place (covering the desktop) with the window you
activated/opened still in focus of course.

Can we try "norock", "nojoliet" and "uid=" and "gid=" (putting these one
at a time in /etc/fstab or remounting manually. I don't know if plain

(as original reporter) I am not following ubuntu anymore, so I don't
know. (my ibook is powerpc so I use debian on it, since debian has

This should be fixed in feisty urgently in my opinion. I managed to
"trigger this condition" on a fresh feisty install I was doing for a
friend. I didn't edit sources.list or anything, I just clicked around in
repository settings and synaptic. I suspect gnome-app-install introduced
the duplicate.
Likewise no change with 5.9.2-2ubuntu2 (vs 5.9.2-2ubuntu1 etc) for me.
